Owen Jaques is an independent barrister specialising is contentious commercial and regulatory matters. Before joining the independent bar, Owen spent eight years as a litigator at Russell McVeagh.

Acting for an international financial institution to protest the jurisdiction of the New Zealand Courts to hear various equitable claims
Defending a multinational and its New Zealand subsidiary against a multi million dollar contract claim in the High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court
Acting for an overseas company in relation to a multi million dollar debt recovery in the High Court
Acting for a courier services provider in relation to claims in contract and pursuant to the Carriage of Goods Act in relation to a classic racing vehicle
